What is Asu?
Arizona State University is also known as ASU, a public academic and research university that was formed on 26 February 1885. It is the America's biggest state university measured by enrollment. The university offers bachelor's degree, masters and doctoral degree level programs in the fields of engineering, nursing, arts, journalism, sciences, business, accounting, finance, law, design, media, humanities, physical sciences, communication, architecture, and other fields. It serves more than 58,404 undergraduates and 13,850 postgraduates. ASU has four campuses: Tempe campus, West campus, Polytechnic campus and Downtown Phoenix campus. Tempe campus is the largest flagship campus of the university located on 631.6 acres in downtown Tempe, Arizona. This campus has enrolled more than 59,794 students. Its West campus was opened in the year 1984 and covers an area of 250 acres. Polytechnic campus of the ASU was opened in 1996 as 'ASU East' that serves nearly 10,521 students. The university also offers online degree programs in business, communication, arts, justice, nursing, liberal arts and sciences fields. In the year 2012, it served more than 5,000 students though online. ASU consists of sixteen colleges and schools. It is among the top 25 largest public research university in the United States. The university is an affiliated to the Universities Research Association (URA), Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) and The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). ASU has 20 athletic teams called 'Sun Devils' that participates in several sports like swimming, baseball, golf, badmnton, softball, tracking etc. The university is the winner of the over 23 national collegiate team championships in gymnastics, baseball, golf and softball. AUS also provides various financial resources to their needy students. Its financial resources are grants, loans, student jobs and scholarships.
