What is Whitby Bus Station Contact?
Whitby GO Station is a train and bus station in the Go Transit network. GO Transit is the regional public transit service, and is a division of Metrolinx, for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. It offers services with routes extending to communities across the Greater Horseshoe. Whitby GO Station provides connections by Go Bus northward to Port Perry and Beaverton, and local Durham Region Transit routes within Whitby.
In the year 1903, Grand Trunk Railway
built the Whitby Junction Station. It closed in 1969 and was moved to the north-east corner of Victoria Street in 1971. GO Transit came into being by 1967, it started with a single line Go Train
and expanded into an extensive network of train lines and bus routes. It carries over sixty five million passengers per year, who utilise the services for travelling to work, school, home and for leisure activities. It merged with Metrolinx in 2009.
It provides passengers with safe, fast, reliable, comfortable service to downtown Toronto and other urban centres. It serves a population of seven million in an 11,000-square-kilometre area, stretching from Hamilton and Kitchener-Waterloo in the west to Newcastle and Peterborough in the east, and from Orangeville, Barrie and Beaverton in the north to Niagara Falls in the south. It runs 2,061 bus trips daily. It provides bus services in various areas, some running every day and some from Monday to Friday.
