Burlington Waterfront Park is the recreational park built on the Banks of Lake Champlain. With pleasant climate, quaint and clean atmosphere the Waterfront Park is the place for relaxation for the locals as well as the commuters through Burlington. The Burlington City Council has made available Walking Paths, Cycling Trails, seats for sitting and other similar arrangements to make the park a source of retreat for relaxation.
The park is built about 900ft along the lake shore. The benches along the lake shore enable one of the most gorgeous views of Sunset on the lake. The park also has access to a Festival which hosts a number of major events throughout the year. The festival is available for conferences, private meetings, concerts, exhibitions, carnivals. Another striking feature of the Waterfront is the 12 km long Bike path which stretches from Oak ledge Park in the South of Burlington to the Winooski River in the north and it passes through the Waterfront Park. As the path follows the shoreline it provides a magnificent view of the Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains on the other side. Initially the path was used as railroad bed and with efforts from State as well as Federal Government the Bike path was completed and opens to the public in 1986. The Bike path has not only been as source of fitness. As the Waterfront Bike path is the backbone of region’s vast network of bike paths connecting Burlington to nearby towns and counties like Grand Isle and other South Burlington areas. This has made the Waterfront Park as source of recreation scenic & commuting to nearby counties.
