What is University of Toledo Medical Center?
University of Toledo medical Center (UTMC) offers highest medical care with modernised facilities. UTMC is a state government acute care teaching hospital located in Taledo, Ohio. The center is affiliated with University of Toledo and offers emergency services. The center has three hospitals which are located at the University of Toledo Health science campus which has a total capacity of 320 beds. The three hospitals are namely the University Medical Center, Rehabilitation Hospital and the Kobacker Center. The center was established in 1964 and was formerly known as Medical College of Ohio. The first batch of medical students started in 1969. The university of Toledo Health science enrols about 2000 students every year across all its academic divisions which includes colleges of medicine, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, graduate studies. In 2006 the Ohio Governor merged the former Medical College of Ohio with the University of Ohio.

UTMC was the first of the world’s first paired renal exchange transplant and had the only specialist performing atrial fibrillation ablation in the area. The Coghlin Rehabilitation Center offers inpatient and outpatient services to traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and stroke patients. The center provides complete rehabilitation facilities including musculoskeletal, neurological, pain management etc. The hospital offersspecialty service for amputee and prosthetic needs, electrodiagnostic services, interventional spine procedures, and wheelchair seating.
The Kobacker Center specializes in treating children and teens who have psychiatric problems like thoughts of suicide, chronic depression, and intense anger etc. The Center works with other mental health boards. The Behavioral Medicine Clinic helps patients with stress reduction techniques like biofeedback, relaxation, and psychotherapy. Psychiatric disorders are also treated at the General Adult Clinic.
