What is PGW Contact?
PGW stands for Philadelphia Gas Works is a public natural gas utility which is owned and operated by the municipal of Philadelphia. It is one of the largest companies of natural gas, came into existence on February 1836 when first forty six gas lights get started between Vine and south streets of Philadelphia. The company came under the city ownership in 1897 and with the coming of 1940 it increased its supply to about 500, 000 customers in Philadelphia and that time most of the gas produced by the company was carbureted water gas.
Apart from this, Pgw takes care of over 6,000 miles long gas and service pipes through which over 78 billion cubic feet natural gas is provided to 500,000 customers annually.

The company also came with the concept of Landlord Cooperation Program which is given to households of Philadelphia and it is not available for commercial and industrial properties. Under this program, landlord can avoid liens on their properties in the case they don't pay their gas bills.
In 2009, the company took initiatives to make people aware of the importance of natural gas and way to save it. PGW has been given few awards and recognitions, some of them are Marketing and Sales Award of 2010 which was given to the company by the American Public Gas Association.
