The company came into existence in the year 1921 as 'Pep Auto Supplies' with the hard works of four Men named as Maurice L. (Moe) Strauss, W. Graham (Jack) Jackson, Emanuel (Manny) Rosenfeld and Moe Radavitz whom contributed $800 and open the first store in the chain. The name of the company was given in accordance with the pep Valve grinding compound on the shelves. As of March, 2013 the company operates 740 stores of their own in the country. By the 1930's the chain had grown to 40 stores in the city of Philadelphia and after that the business never looked back and reached to heights. The company also sponsored many sporting events and personalities like in the year 2007 it sponsored Sterling Marlin's No. 14 car owned by Ginn Racing organized by NASCAR.
