What is Lake Huron?

Lake Huron is named after Huron community and this name was given to place by great French Explorer. By the area, this lake is the largest lake in North America occupies total surface area of 23,000 square miles. It is the fresh water lake located 176 meter above sea level. The average depth of the lake is 195 feet, and its water volume is 850 cubic miles. The lake had to face storm in 1913 that sank ten ships and other heavily damaged.
