RelayRides is the name of a car rental company that runs a car sharing service with the same name within the United States. The service allows people car owners to earn money by renting their cars for a particular period of time. RelayRides service was first launched in Boston in the year 2010 and it was created with the hard works of Shelby Clark who got the Idea from a similar company named Zipcar. The company found to use these underutilized vehicles which resulted in reduced rental costs as compared to car sharing services. Later in the year 2012 the service was launched all over the country with funding from several companies that includes many biggies like General Motors Ventures, Google Ventures. The business grew largely in a small period of time. People can book vehicles of the company just over the internet. The vehicles used by the company are insured with $1 million worth of insurance value for providing insurance cover to the people traveling in their vehicles.

For becoming eligible to rent a vehicle to the company a car owner must have to clear some conditions. The company conduct background of car owners and if anybody is found to ineligible than he should be given the permission to rent his/her vehicle.
