The Edwin Irby Hatch Nuclear Power Plant is a largest nuclear power plant situated at Hatch Parkway, Baxley, Georgia, United States. It is spread in an area of about 2,244-acres. The nuclear power plant has two General Electric boiling water reactors which have total capacity of 1,759 megawatts. It was named for the honor of Edwin I Hatch who was president of Georgia Power from 1963 to 1975 and Chairman from 1975 to 1978. The Hatch nuclear power plant is managed by Southern Nuclear Operating Company which is a part of the Southern Company. It is owned by Georgia Power, Oglethorpe Power Corporation, Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia and Dalton Water & Light Sinking Fund Commission.
