What is Nj Turnpike?
New Jersey Turnpike, also known as NJTP, is a tollway, which is located in the Woodbridge Township in the US state of New Jersey. A government agency, New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the toll. It comes at number 6 in the list of the busiest toll roads in the United States according to the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association. On entrance of the toll gate, toll fee is charged and a fee slip is issued to the visitors, which is retained by them during their journey, and the fee amount charged is dependent on the distance traveled. The same fee slip is shown on exiting and if the slip is lost, the highest toll is borne from the visitors. In September 2000, the E-ZPass electronic toll collection system, a latest technology electronic system that facilitates the visitors to pay for their visits without reducing the speed of their vehicles, was initiated at the toll.
