What is Meridian High School?
Meridian high school is the famous public school which resides in the City of Macon, Illinois. In the year 1994, when the Macon school district and Blue Mound School district were merged, then the Meridian high school was established. The school is a sub-division of Meridian Community school district which includes Meridian intermediate school, Meridian middle school, Blue Mound of Illinois and etc. The Meridian district has developed its schools in different owns such as Boody & Elwin, Macon, Blue Mound and also the areas of southern peak of Decatur. Currently this school is a four year high school but soon it will become the new Meridian junior/Senior high school and also the education will also be provided to the grades 6 to 12. Additionally, a new wing is going to be added into the campus where new grade students will be shifted. Moreover, gym facilities will be added as an advantage for the students. Moving to Athletics part, there is a baseball and football field where students are enforced to be a part of it for overall development. The School is having its separate teams for every sport named as Macon Ironmen Sports team. In the year 1971, the Macon Ironmen Baseball team were ranked on second number by the Illinois high school association for state boys baseball championship tournament. In the field football, the school has also shown its capabilities by acquiring second place in the IHSA class 1A state Playoffs.
