What is Dubai World Trade Centre?
Dubai World Trade Centre, also known as DWTC, is an event and convention centre in the United Arab Emirates. It is situated in the most populous city Dubai. The complex is considered perfect place for weddings and events, exhibition services, real estate management, conferences. Hospitality services and more. The Dubai World Trade Centre has total 8 exhibition halls that means it can host multiple events at a time. The centre also has an original tower which was built in 1978. The other facilities included in the centre is residential apartments, a convention and exhibition building Dubai International Convention Centre etc. The centre has 39 floors and is 149 meters tall. It was built in the year 1979. The Dubai World Trade Centre was established by Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. At the time of construction, it was the city's as well as the country's tallest centre. The complex has a number of tenants including General Motors, Sony, Mastercard International, Federal Express, Johnson and Johnson, Schlumberger and more. Till date, the centre has hosted a number of international conferences, shows and trade fairs. Since establishment, the Dubai World Trade Centre has contributed a lot in the Middle East region's growth in international trade. At the World Travel Awards, the centre was honored with the Leading Meeting and Conference Centre in the Middle East region for two years in a row, 2010 and 2011. Moreover, it is also the recipient of the Business Destinations Travel Award for the category of Best Congress and Convention Centre for the year 2014.
