DD National is a prominent public national television channel that is broadcast by Doordarshan. The channel is widely seen all across India broadcasting through radio signals, television antennas and tuners. DD National doesn't have autonomous existence as it is run by state and government of ruling party. The channel was publicly broadcast on 15th of September 1959 operates from New Delhi, India. DD National Broadcast Areas
DD National is extremely focused on shows that represent country's unity, fraternity. It is also considered the No. 1 channel according to the total viewership. The channel gives place to programs related to Health, information and education. The show timings of the channels are from morning 5: 30 am to till midnight. Doordarshan
Doordarshan is state owned broadcaster run by Prasar Bharati, an independent body formed under the Act of Parliament composed of Doordarshan television network and All India Radio. The organization has advance studio and transmitter infrastructure that makes Doordarshan one of the largest broadcasting organizations in India. Doordarshan was officially launched on 15th of September, 1959 under the direction of Prasar Bharati. The organization provides services of television, radio, online and mobile service covering all small towns, villages, cities across India. Doordarshan started journey with very limited transmission services of All India Radio. In 1967, it began news telecast of five minute and Pratima Puri was the first newsreader worked for the Doordarshan. Until 1975, Doordarshan was the only broadcaster television services in India. With the coming of 1st of April, 1976, the radio services got separated from Doordarshan. Apart from this, Krishi Darshan was the first program to be telecasted on Doordarshan and was the most running programs in the history of Indian television. All the major decisions of Doordarshan are taken by Prasar Bharati Board that is composed of Chief Executive officer, personal member, financial member and Chairperson. Apart from this its part-time members are Ex Officio members and representative of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
