What is Cdta?
CDTA is an abbreviated form of Capital District Transportation Authority and is the state owned body of New York. It is a transportation services provider in the US State of New York and covers the areas of Saratoga, Rensselaer, Albany and Schenectady. The company offers local bus services, commuter Coach services and rail transportation services. The transport company has a fleet of 306 buses operated on 59 routes. As of 2009, more than 15,407,000 people traveled through CDTA carriers.
History
CDTA was founded in August 1970 under an
Act of the Government of New York. The Capital District Transportation Authority acquired the operations of United Traction Company in 1972. In 2000, the company installed the Bike Racks in its buses to facilitate the
Travelers to carry their bikes along with them.
Routes and Terminals
The route system of CDTA is an interlinking web of the shopping malls, residential areas, universities and neighboring areas of the Capital district of New York state.
