What is Caresource?
CareSource is the provider of Medicaid health care plans in the regions of Ohio and Kentucky with the strength of over 9,50,000. It has been in association with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and has employed nearly 18,00 people in its various activities. CareSource features various plans for its members such as nurse assistance services, medical services, and health risk assessment.
History
CareSource was started in 1985 from Dayton, Ohio through the efforts of Pamela Morris and received fund from the state. After being operated under the title of Dayton Area Health Plan for fifteen years, it was renamed as CareSource in 2000. Meanwhile the company has established it as the leading Medicaid providers amidst the "regulatory hurdles". In the same year, it had the membership of nearly seventy thousand people which would increase upto 3,20,000 by 2003. It started various programs out of its business activity; CareSource Foundation for charity purposes while CareSource University points towards the training program being imparted to its employees. The services of CareSource are available at doctors, dentists, and hospitals throughout the state of Ohio.
