What is Caqh?
The CAQH is also called Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare which is a non-profit association of health plans and trade associations based in US. CAQH provides easy healthcare administrative solutions for providers and health plans in the United States through two initiatives namely Universal Provider Datasource or UPD and CORE (Operating Rules for Information Exchange). Its main operating office is situated in Washington, DC, United States.
Operation and Functions
CAQH performs various functions to assist in the management and network of its members. It serves as the coordination point and communication medium to deliver information and other services among member organizations and shareholders. On the other hand, CAQH suggests cost effective methods, easy benefit process and administrative solutions to its members.
Initiatives and Services
To deliver its all services and functions to its affiliates, CAQH has introduced many administrative, transaction and data management solutions. COB
Smart is its benefit processing and arrangement solution and was launched in 2014. CAQH allows healthcare companies to enroll their members into electronic fund transfer and electronic remittance advice system through its EFT and ERA services. It has introduced Universal Provider Datasource as the platform for data collection, data management and distribution services. CORE is it’s another system to deliver data management which allows the providers to collect data and other information regarding health plans and patients.
