It owns over 4,600 hotels in nearly 100 countries.

The Candlewood Suites opened its first hotel in Wichita, Kansas in 1996 after being incorporated in 1995. The objective behind the foundation of the chain was to provide low cost services to the
Budget business travelers. In its journey of over eight years as an independent entity, The Candlewood Suites was expanded throughout the USA. In 2004, it was owned by
Ihg and today it has grown to over 300 cities worldwide.
