What is Border Patrol Contact?
The Border Patrol is the government agency for the safety of Citizens by controlling terrorists activities in the United States. It was established in the year 1924 with the mission to detect and prevent the illegal entry of foreigners into the country. The agency is engaged with law enforcement activities and controls the border activities which facilitates the movement of lawful immigration and products while controlling the unlawful trafficking of people and contraband. The Border Patrol covers around 5,000 miles of Mexican and Canadian international land borders and more than 1,500 miles of Coastal waters adjacent the Florida Peninsula and the island of Puerto Rico.
It has around 21,000 Agents that are able to work in all types of land and climate conditions. The department provides 91 days training to them at the Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico, which is a part of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. It performs different activities which includes, controlling traffic checkpoints along highways prominent from border areas, city patrolling and transportation check, and anti-smuggling investigations. The Border Patrol used different equipments such as Electronic sensors, Video monitors, Night vision scopes and others. The vehicles, boats, afoot, snowmobiles, bikes, bicycles and horses are used for border patrolling.
The Linewatch and Signcutting operations are also performed by the agents to prevent the prohibited entry and smuggling of strangers. The Marine Border Patrol controls around 108 vessels that are varied from blue-water craft to inflatable-hull craft in 16 sectors. As of Fiscal Year 2012 record, the department arrests around 363,000 people who are illegally entered into the country. It is divided into Three different categories such as Border Patrol Special Operations Group (SOG), Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue (BORSTAR) and Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC).
