What is Youth Challenge Hawaii?
The Youth Challenge Program is a graduate program that assists the neglected or abused children with the skills, education, values and self discipline to survive as an adult. The program consists of Youth Challenge Academies run by the National Guard Bureau of the United States. It accepts the male and female between the age group of 16-18 years, who are drug free, high school dropouts and are not convicted by law. The duration of the Youth Challenge Program is of seventeen and a half months including five and a half months of the quasi-military Residential Phase and twelve months of the Post-Residential Phase. The Youth Challenge Hawaii is governed by the National Guard Bureau and provides life skills, physical and leadership training.
