Washington Market Park is a public park based in Lower Manhattan of New York. The park was formed in the year 1978 as Washington Market Community Park and spread over an area of 1.61-acre. The park contains community gardens, large playground and hosts many community events. The park is named after the previous Washington Market which was the City's most important wholesale produce market from 1880 to 1910. After the attack on World Trade Center on 11 September 2001 the park was damaged and closed Down for some time and reconstructed again in the year 2003.
