Virginia International Raceway is a famous racecourse made in the community of Alton, near Danville, Virginia. The racecourse hosted many famous car and bike race events, driving schools, club days, and private test rentals. The length of the track is 3.27 miles and the Patriot Course stretches for 1.1 miles inside the full course. The track opened to public races on August 3, 1957 and designed by Sports Car Enterprises, Inc architect firm. American Le Mans Series is the major racing event hosted by the racecourse.
