Doug Parker is a US citizen who became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of US Airways Group, Inc. in September 2005. He was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of America West Airlines which merged with US Airways in 2005. As CEO of US Airways, two unsuccessful bid were made by Doug Parker in 2007 and 2010 to merge US Airways with Delta Air Lines and United Airlines respectively. Doug Parker served American Airlines (1986 to 1991), Northwest Airlines (1991 to 1995) and as CEO of the combined company i.e, US Airways and American Airlines. He holds a BA and MBA degree from Albion College (1984) and Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University (1986), respectively.
