What is University of Connecticut Admissions Office?
The University of Connecticut is also known as UConn, a public flagship research university that was formed in the year 1881 with the name Storrs Agricultural School. Its name was given in the honour of Charles and Augustus Storrs who were the donors of the school land. Later on, it became land grant college and changed its name to The University of Connecticut in 1939. The university has six campuses: Torrington campus, Storrs campus, Greater Hartford campus, Waterbury campus, Avery Point and Stamford campus. Storrs campus is the main campus of the university situated on 4,400 acres in Storrs, Mansfield, Connecticut, United States. All campuses operates various student organizations including athletic, community service clubs, musical groups, cultural, political and religious. Mascot which represent the university is Jonathan the Husky.
The University of Connecticut offers bachelor's and master's level degree courses in several fields of study such as law, accounting, social work, medicine, business, agricultural, engineering, pharmacy, fine arts, liberal arts, nursing and more. It is affiliated to the to the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities and the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities. The University also provides placement services to its students. All the University of Connecticut campuses have the facilities of Information Center, Information Technology Center, Library, Theater, High-Tech Computer Labs and many more. The university serves more than 30,624 students. It is one of the top 20 public research universities in the United States. The University of Connecticut consists of fourteen academic schools. It also provides sports facilities to the students. Its athletic teams are known as "Huskies".
