What is Tricare Life?

Tricare for Life also known as TFL is healthcare program of the United States Department of Defence Military Health System which provide civilian health Benefits to military personnel, military retiree & their dependents.

Tricare Life Programs


In addition to Tricare for Life, there are many other healthcare programs such as Tricare Standard, Tricare Extra, Tricare Prime, Tricare Reserve Select, Tricare Reserve Retired & Tricare Young Adult run by United States Department of Defence. In May 2001, Tricare for Life was incorporated as a part of the then-seven regional Managed Care Support Contracts of Tricare. This health program was designed to pay patient liability after Medicare Payments. To be eligible for TFL, members must be Tricare & Medicare Eligible & should have purchased Medicare Part B coverage.
