What is the Gap?
The Gap is an American retail clothing company and a clothing chain whose products are sold out in different countries of the world. The company is originally known with the name of 'The Gap Incorporation'. The chain was created by two Men named Donald G. Fisher and Doris F. Fisher in the year 1969 with the opening of its first store on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco. The company also have five subsidiary companies named as the namesake banner, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime and Athleta, these further have their own clothing line but are under the control of Gap Incorporation. The subsidiary companies of the chain have their own Identity and are known for its product line. The company operates in several international locations others than in the United States which are in the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Korea, Japan and China etc. The chain holds a large number of company owned stores throughout the world whose count was 3,263 as of December, 2012. The product line include a wide variety of clothing ranging from jackets, jeans, trousers to other fashion accessories for every Age of person.
