State University of New York (SUNY) is a system of public institutions of higher education in New York, US. It is a system of universities, colleges, and community colleges in the United States and was founded in 1948. SUNY has an enrollment of over 460,000 students, plus 1.1 million adult education students spanning more than 60 campuses across the state. SUNY system has 88,000 faculty members and about 7,600 degree and certificate programs.
