History

Sunbeam brand came into existence in the 1920s with the introduction of a home appliance range under the brand name. But the brand traces its Roots to the founding of "Flexible Shaft Company" by the efforts of John K. Stewart and Thomas Clark in the year 1897. The brand products are sold out all over the country and the world which are available at company owned stores and independent kitchen product retailers. The brand introduced many products in the past which received a large success upon their launch. Previously the brand was a company itself known with the name of "Sunbeam Corporation". Allegheny International Inc. of Pittsburgh, took over the "Sunbeam Corporation" in the year 1981 and converted into a brand name specialized in kitchen appliances.

Acquisitions

Since the establishment of the company it took over many small companies and businesses to expand their own business. Some of its major acquisitions were of "Rain King Sprinkler Company" during the 1960s, "John Oster Manufacturing Company" in the year 1960.
