What is Sams?

Sam's Club, also known as Sam's West, Inc., is a network of local Warehouse clubs and retailers in the United States. The Club is based in Midwest City, Oklahoma, United States. Its operations are owned by the world's 2nd largest public corporation, Walmart. The Public Corporation does not provide any separate financial report for the club. The Network serves more than 47,000,000 customers throughout the country. Sams Club is the eighth largest retailer network and was the 2nd largest warehouse in 2008 in the United Kingdom in terms of total sale with US$57,000,000. It was only behind Costco, retailer chain.

Sams Operations

Sams club has been in operations since 1983. Its name was given after the founder of its parent, Sam Walton. Customer can find a wide range of products in the stores like jewelry, sunglasses, electronics, apparel, pharmacy, bakery, Optical and many others. Sam's Club has over 600 locations across the country. Addition to these, it also operates twenty five international locations. The club facilitates its members with Discover Cards and other credit cards and debit cards, which are beneficial for making the payment system simple and easy. The Club has opened business center in Houston, Texas in 2008; unfortunately, it was closed in January 2010. Since March 2009, Sams club has been supporting EBT SNAP, a government operated welfare program.
