Salt Lake City International Airport is joint civil-military airport that is amongst the largest airports in the United States based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The airport serve as the headquarters for several US airline companies. It is a main hub for Delta Air Lines and is equipped with a general aviation runway and Three air carrier runways facility. Salt Lake City International Airport's 16L/34R runway has 12,003 feet length, the 17/35 runway has 9,596 feet length, the 14/32 runway has 4,900 feet length and the 16R/34L runway is 12,000 feet long. The airport has five concourses, two terminals and 83 aircraft gates. It is wholly owned by the Salt Lake City Department of Airports. Salt Lake City International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the United States in terms of air traffic. It operates arrival and departure of approximately 645 scheduled flights every day.
Salt Lake City International Airport was established in the 1930's when its first terminal and airport administration building was built. United Airlines had started the First Flight operations from the airport with first flight between New York City and San Francisco. After that the airport became a joint civil-military airport when United States Air Force established a base at the airport.
