What is Patanjali Yogpeeth Ahmedabad?
Patangali Yogpeeth - Divya Yog Mandir (trust) was founded in 1995 by Swami Shri Shankar Ji along with his disciples which also included Swami Ram Dev Ji. It is located at Haridwar and is the largest institute in the country for yoga. There are seven Patanjali Chikitsalayas at Ahmedabad. They are located at Bapu Nagar, Gota, Maninagar, Paladi, Satellite, Shahi Bagh, Nilkol regions in Ahmedabad district. It also provides free accommodation and treatment for economically weaker sections of the society. Patanjali Yogpeeth has three campuses, Patanjali Yogpeeth II which is on thirty five acres of land. Here Yoga Science Residential Camps are held with more than five thousand participants. Yog Gram provide benefits of Yoga, meditation, panchkarma and satkarma. Patanjali Herbal Garden and Agro Research Department is for intensive research. It organises Yoga science camps and also provides training through television. “Patanjali Yog Samiti” is a committee at centre, state, divisions, district and tehsil levels to teach yoga at parks and other public places. The University of Patanjali was established under the University of Patanjali Act, 2006 for education, training and research in Yoga, Ayurveda, Medicinal plants and herbs. It provides various facilities like Food Court, library, ATM centre, medicine centre, AC and Non AC rooms, OPD, Yoga classes. They also admit patients for treatment of long term diseases.
