Oakville GO Station is a bus stop and a railway station on the GO transit route, a public transport system in Ontario Province's southern part, Canada. It is the busiest station on the route by the number of commuters. It is also a stoppage for Via Trains, Canada's national intercity rail service. GO Transit's station is located near Trafalgar Road at 214 Cross Avenue, Via Rail's station at Oakville is at 200 Cross Avenue.
The station was opened on May 23 1967 and initially served as western terminating point for full day service. During those beginning years GO Train ran a full day service from Oakville to Pickering and served Hamilton during the limited peak hours.
The station is on GO Transit's Lakeshore West Line. GO bus services which are available during weekdays are: Highway 407 connecting Square One Bus Terminus, York University Bramalea Go Station and Sheridan College; Highway 403 during Rush hour (also serves Square One Terminus) and Highway 401 that connects Yonge Street to Finch Bus Terminus and Yorkdale Bus Stop. Via Trains on the route from Windsor to Quebec and Amtrak rail service's on the route from New York (USA) to Toronto (Canada) stop at the Oakville station.
