O'Reilly Auto Parts started business operations in November 1957 in Springfield, Missouri by the efforts of Charles Francis O'Reilly, a traveling salesman for Fred Campbell Auto Supply in St. Louis, Missouri. The company was named after its founder Charles Francis O'Reilly. Since its inception the company had acquired number of related businesses and companies. In May 2005, the company completed the acquisition of Midwest Automotive Distributors, Incorporation. The company sell its products through company owned stores, dealers and independent automobile stores which got it through company's distributors.
