What is NEST?
NEST stands for National Entrance Screening Test, that is one of the entrance examinations held in the country of India in order to get admission in the two leading colleges of the country, namely, National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and Bhubaneswar and the Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai. NEST examination is conducted for those candidates who want to pursue undergraduate(UG) courses in these two prestigious institutes of the country of India. During the year 2014, NEST entrance examinations were held in nearly forty five centers throughout the country of India. As per the records of the year 2009, there was a great competition among the desirous students to get an admission in NISER, as among the total of seventy thousand candidates throughout the country, the success rate of the candidates was only 0.325% who qualify for the admission.
Pattern Of NEST Test
- The total Number of Sections in the Test are five, of which the first section is mandatory for all the candidates that includes general questions.
- The remaining four sections of the NEST test consists of the subjects, namely, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, out of which the candidates are required to do only three sections.
