What is Mumbai University Kalina?
The University of Mumbai is one of the oldest universities of India located in the Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is a public university established on July 18, 1857 and is also known as the Bombay University. The University offers various undergraduate, post-graduate, diploma and doctoral degrees and large number of colleges and institutes are affiliated to the Mumbai University. The University has two campuses-one is located at the Kalina, Santacruz and other is located at Fort. The Kalina Campus houses academic and administrative departments. The Kalina Campus is spread on more than two-hundred acres of land and the campus houses various on-campus graduate training and research centers. The campus consists of various departments offering courses in science, humanities, technology and commerce. The departments, institutes and centers located at the Kalina Campus include National Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology, Jawaharlal Nehru Library, Garware Institute of Career Education and Development, Biophysics Department, campus Radio station known as Must FM, Alkesh Dinesh Mody Numismatic Museum, Department of Extra Mural Studies, Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute for Financial and Management Studies, Institute for Distance and Open Learning, Western Regional Instrumentation Center, Center for African Studies, Center for Eurasian Studies, Rose Garden and Marathi Bhasha Bhavan center.
