Michael Jackson has his home in Neverland Valley ranch which is a developed property in Santa Barbara County, California. It was previously known as Sycamore Valley Ranch. Michael Jackson named his property Neverland after the fantasy island in the story of Peter Pan.
Michael Jackson had bought this property for a sum in between 16.5 to 30 million dollars from William Bone who was a golf course entrepreneur.
Michael Jackson alongside his home also had a private amusement park in the property. Apart from the amusement park, the property had many statues of children, a zoo and a floral clock. The amusement park had a wide range of rides like Wave Swinger, Ferris Wheel, Octopus, Carousel, Super Slide, Bumper Cars, Roller Coaster and a Gaming Arcade.
Michael Jackson, according to some sources, being an ardent art lover and a voracious reader, had library in Neverland Ranch with approximately 1000 books on poetry, art and psychology. In the year 2008, Michael Jackson transferred his title in the house to Syncamore Valley Ranch Company but still had some stake as Sycamore Valley Ranch was a joint venture between Michael Jackson and Colony Capital LLC.
After his death, there was talk about his body’s burial in this estate, but later it was dismissed. Currently, Michael Jackson’s children are trying to restore the Neverland Ranch as after his death, the ranch was very poorly maintained.
