What is Lax?

LAX is originally known as 'Los Angeles International Airport' is an international airport as clear from that ranks amongst the largest airports in the world. It ranked at sixth position in the list of busiest airports in the world and third in the United States. The airport is one of the major airports of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The airport serve as the prime hub for many airline companies operating in the country such as American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Great Lakes Airlines, Horizon Air, United Airlines and many others. The airport opened in the year 1930 as Mines Field airport by converting the fields of wheat, barley and lima beans into dirt landing strips without any terminal buildings. By the 1960's the airport became a major airport of the city of Los Angeles served by many major air carriers like American Airlines, United Airlines, Bonanza Air Lines, Western Airlines. The airport had nine passenger terminals arranged in the Shape of the letter U or a horseshoe for convenience of both aircrafts and the people as of December, 2012. The airport is equipped with many state of the art facilities like excellent seating facility, fully air conditioned and the staff is well experienced offering quality hospitality services. The airport had flight services to a large number of destinations in the world through different air carriers covering almost every country. During the period of second world war the airport was used by the US armed forces.
