What is Lake Compounce?
Lake Compounce is the famous family theme park in Bristol, Connecticut in the United States. It is an old entertainment park that opened in the year of 1846. The Idea of building a park here came when one of the descendants of John Norton named Gad Norton, hired a scientist to perform an experiment using explosives and that experiment failed and Norton decided to convert into an amusement park.
Park Area
It is continuously-operating entertainment park in the country that spread over a large piece of land of 332 acres. For the entertainment of people, it houses number of facilities such as beach and a Water park. The name of the park was given after one of the Mattatuck/Tunxis Native American, Chief John Compound. Kennywood Entertainment Company acquired the park that is the U.S. subsidiary of Parques Reunidos. The slogan of the park is “New England's Family Theme Park.”
Facilities
Water park and a beach inside the amusement park offers free facilities to visitors. It also includes several facilities such as Thrill Rides, Roller Coaters, Water Rides, Kiddie Rides including Down Time, Boulder Dash, Water Rides,
Wave Swinger, Pirate Ship, Wildcat, Sky Coaster, Rev-O-Lution, Zoomerang, Twister, Thunder Nlighting and Thunder Rapids, Riptide Racer, Mammoth Falls, Tunnel Twister, Antique Carousel, American Flyers, Drop zone etc. A full arrangement for meals and Snakes in Lake Compounce's Cafeteria and Restaurant's also in the park. In addition to this, the park organizes many events and shows that include Jammin at the Lake, Cirque En Vol, Funky Fair styles and many others.
