History of Jack Daniel's
The distillery of Jack Daniel's was set up by Jack Daniles in 1875 after investing inheritance received from his father. His distillery was the second most profit earning in Moore County in 1880's and the end products were started packing in
Square shaped bottles from 1897. One of its earlier brands was Old No. 7, which reflected its distillery number granted by government for registration. In 1904, Jack Daniel's was the recipient of the gold medal at
Louisiana Purchase Exposition. The ownership of the distillery was passed to his nephews by Jack Daniel in 1907 before being died in 1911. Jack Danile's was operated by Lem Motlow and was inherited by his sons followed by his death in 1947. In 1956, it was owned by Brown Forman Corporation and was designated as a NRHP place in 1972.
