What is Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services?
The Illinois Department Of Healthcare And Family (also called HFS) is a government department that comes under US State of Illinois. It provides health care services to the adults and children who are eligible for Medicaid program. The department also ensures that the children of Illinois are getting full financial support from parents. It is divided into two major divisions namely Child Support Services and Medical Programs. There are about 2,100 employees working in the department. It is headed by the HFS Director. The department was formerly known as the Illinois Department of Public Aid.
