What is Fire Department Brampton?
The Brampton Fire Department working under 'Fire and Emergency department' is recognized for providing various educational and training programs such as Fire Support Services, Fire detection and Fire Prevention for protecting the lives of the people during fires, hazardous material incidents, Technical Rescue ,Automobile Extrication and disasters. In Brampton, the fire department commonly known as fire and rescue service was commenced in 1988 as Community Relations division. It is responsible for controlling many programs which are followed as: Fire Extinguisher Program , Tapp-C Program , Risk Watch Program, Co-Operative Education Program, Hi-Rise Fire Safety Program, Industrial Fire Safety Program , Peel Regional Custodial Fire Safety Program etc . 'Brampton Fire Department', working on the behalf of Government has been operating nearly 12 full-time firefighting stations like station 206, station 202, station 201 etc. It comprises of 4 Platoon Chiefs, 8 District Chiefs, 68 Captains and 285 Firefighters which responds to more than 17,607 emergency calls. Apart from this, emergency medical services with the help of many agencies like Statue Of Liberty Fire Brigade are also provided. All the activities regarding budgets, policy, safety and human resource has been carried out under 3 sections named as Volunteers, Support and Research. The Council of “The Corporation of the City of Brampton” had launched many automatic fire detection equipments like fire alarm, Carbon Monoxide Alarm under BY-LAW 279-93 and 275-98.
