What is Dfcu?
DFCU is a credit union that is owned and operated by Michigan's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). It provides loans and other financial services to its members. It was created by some employees of Ford Motor Company's Engineering and Styling wing in February 1950 as Ford Engineering Employees Federal Credit Union and later in the year 1954 changed its name to Ford Dearborn Federal Credit Union. Few years after in the year 1960 again it changed its name to Dearborn Federal Credit Union and at last got the name of DFCU in 2003. DFCU serves around 200,000 members. It operates a network of more than 4,000 branch offices and over 30,000 ATMs throughout the country.
