What is Department of Social Work Delhi University?
The Department of Social Work, University of Delhi is one of the principal schools of Social Work in India located in the New Delhi, Delhi, India. It was established in the year 1946 as YWCA School of Social Work at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It was formerly known as the Delhi School of Social Work and is the first graduate Institute of social work recognized by the University of Delhi. The school offers post-graduate, M. Phil and doctorate programs in Social Work and has various Research Projects and Centers. The Department of Social Work Delhi, University is one of the leading schools of Social Work in India and was renamed as the Department of Social Work, University of Delhi in the year 1979. The Department was recognized as the Department of Social Assistance in the year 1992 by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Department provides all the modern facilities to the students including spacious and well equipped Lecture halls, fully stocked Library, Computer Cell, Auditorium, Conference Hall and other facilities.
