Chicago Transit Authority is funded by Regional Transportation Authority.

The company provides transit service to 148 routes of Chicago metropolitan area through a network of more than 1,800 buses and 1,190 rails. The company has 144 stations in the United States. It daily handles approximately 1.7 million passengers by rail and bus. It offers passengers to travel in bus and pay fares with cash, transit card and ventra card, an electronic fare payment system. Chicago Transit Authority has more than 12,000 employees.
