The Company joined with Nextel Communications in 2005 and was named as Sprint Nextel Corporation. In 2013, The Nextel Network was closed down and the Company took back the name to Sprint Corporation. Sprints major part was acquired by Japanese telecommunications company SoftBank Corporation in July 2013 and rest part of the Sprint maintained dealing with New York Stock Exchange.

Sprint offers wireless services and is also known for leading universal internet services. Sprint had 55.9 million customers as of Feb 2015. Sprint introduced co-branded Broadband along with
Linksys and a unit of cisco systems to the customers to install at homes or in offices. Sprint introduced and supported FOX television series 24. Sprint also supported reality shows like Big Brother, Survivor on CBS.
