Chicago State University (CSU) is a state university which was opened in 1867. It is the member of Thurgood Marshall College Fund which has over 7000 student's strength. Its present campus is located 12 miles from the Loop. The Csu is operated by Board of Trustee which are appointed by Governor of Chicago. The university offers 36 undergraduate and 25 graduate degree-granting programs through its five colleges including Health Sciences, Arts and Science, Business, Education, and Pharmacy. The school sports team is known as Cougars and it participates in Great West Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I.
