What is California Youth Authority?
The California Youth Authority is now known as Division of Juvenile Justice. It was established in 1943 as a reform school. It is a division of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and has attained a reputation as a dangerous place for children. Its headquarters is situated in Sacramento, California. It provides treatment services, education and training to the youthful offenders of California who at the Age of 25 have the most criminal backgrounds and an extraordinary need of treatment. The plan of Division of Juvenile Justice programs is the Integrated Behavior Treatment Model and it is draft to reduce institutional violence, providing personal skills to manage their environment better and to avoid future criminal backgrounds by teaching anti-criminal attitudes.
