Cadbury is a multinational company Biscuits, Beverages, Bags, Boxes, Rolls, Milk Bars, Baking Milk Chocolates, Ice-Creams, Biscuits, Easter, etc. It is the world's second largest company after the William Wrigley Jr. Company; an Illinois based food processing company. Since 2012, the Cadbury is owned by Mondelez International, an American based food processing company.
History
The Cadbury is more than 190 years old company. The Cadbury was established by John Cadbury in 1824. John Cadbury started business with a grocer’s shop located at 93 Bull Street, Birmingham. Its initial products were tea, coffee and drinking chocolates. In 1831, Cadbury opened a four-story warehouse in Crooked Lane. John Cadbury with
Brothers expanded his business with factory located in Bridge Street, Birmingham in 1847 and also changed name into Cadbury Brothers. In 1861, the company passed to John Cadbury's sons named Richard and George.
In beginning of 20th century, the company started Dairy Milk chocolate and in 1914, the Dairy Milk chocolate became the company's best product. In 1919, the company merged with J. S.
Fry & Sons and with Schweppes in 1969. Cadbury acquired Adams, a gum maker in 2003.
Head Office and Operation
Cadbury is headquartered in Uxbridge, West London. It was first located at 25 Berkeley
Square in Mayfair, Westminster and it was moved to current location when the company was operated as the subsidiary of
Kraft Foods. The main production unit of Cadbury is located in Bournville. Cadbury has operations in more than fifty countries across the globe.
