The Busey Bank came into existence as Busey Brothers and Company Bank. In 1869,
Next year of inception, Dr. W R Earhart sold his share to brothers and bank reintroduced as Busey Brothers Bank. During 1913, the bank changed its name into Busey's State Bank and in 1945 after receiving a federal charter; it became Busey First National Bank. As of 2011, the bank has total property of $3.3 billion.
