It is headquartered in Framingham, Massachusetts, USA and has employed over 9300 people in its offices and facilities. The company also carries research on various technologies for innovations in the audio field. Bose was founded in 1964 by Amar G Bose, an MIT graduate. His disappointment with the personal stereo system led him to explore in the field of sound and audio quality. Mr Bose found some basic fault in the designing of the sound equipments and after eight years he laid the foundation of the company. William Zackowitz was appointed as the first president of the company. The business was started with the launching of the first product, a loudspeaker which met negative reviews. Later on, Amar Bose learnt from the faults of previous product and came up with Model 901, loudspeaker, which proved breakthrough for the company.
