Dear Mr. Lieberman,
First of all I want to introduce myself to you. I'm a German citizen, member of the Anglican Church, but also a descendant of Ashkanesim, Bohemia, from my mother's side. I am very worried about he latest happenings in the political scene concerning especially Turkey and Iran. To understand my point of view better before she died my grandmother took the promise from me to help when Israel is in need which I readily granted. I want to confrontate you with the idea in establishing an unit that allows US or European Citizens with or without Jewish background to support Israel in times of danger, in the way similar it is with the Fench Foreign Legion. I even figured out a nice name for that unit could be "Lionheart Division" (hope you like it) as it would even have a historical background. In my case- I did six years service in the German forces and got specialized in decontamination of man and material, which, I think, is actually pretty useful. After all Jerusalem e. G. Is subject of responsibilty for Jews and Christians. Although being aware of being part of the Jewish people the current law offers me no chance in becoming an Israeli citizen as I'm too much organized here in Europe. I'm just looking for a way to keep my given promise and I desperately do not know how. Supporting your secret service in giving accomodation could be an option as we run holiday appartments. Please consider my idea in bringing up an international proisraeli unit, even in effect as message to islamic states which like to wipe Israel off the map. Yours faithfully,
Stephan Schmidt .
